"Carol Porter, DNP, RN, FAAN is the Edgar M. Cullman, Sr. Chair of the Department of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer/ Senior Vice President and the Associate Dean of Nursing Research and Education at Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) in New York City, NY. She attended the GNLI in 2010. Since her participation in the GNLI, her MSH Center for Nursing Research and Education (CNRE) has worked with more than 200 global nursing leaders to enhance their leadership capacity in nursing research and education. Currently, she is involved in the development of a new state of the art Biocontainment Unit at MSH in preparation for the management of Ebola patients in the USA. She has has incorporated the use of simulation education of the clinical teams while in full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and she has included the observations and education gleaned from these sessions to make the practice safer for MSH staff and the patients. MSH has just been identified as one of the 35 hospitals in the U.S. designated as a center for Ebola patients."

lfc™ graduate spotlight
"Nasr Ali Ahmed is the National Coordinator of the ICN Leadership for Change™ (LFC) Programme in Yemen and the ICN LFC™ Regional Trainer in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) in EMRO, he has successfully implemented the ICN LFC™ Programme in Syria, Qatar and Iraq. Nasr also participated in the 2011 ICN-Burdett Global Nursing Leadership Institute and has served as a member of the ICN GNLI Advisory Committee since 2012. He is a member of the regional team for quality and patient safety research at the WHO/EMRO and a member of the Technical Committee for Quality and Patient Safety in the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC). He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Global Health Development (Health Policy) at Hanyang University, South Korea."
