"Nyangi Philemon Ngomu, MSN, PDM, AHMP, RN, is the Regional Nursing Advisor for General Nursing at the International Center for AIDS Programs (ICAP), Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in New York. In this role, he provides technical support for capacity building programs in six African countries. ICAP offered by the Foundation for Professional Development in South Africa in collaboration with Yale University in USA develops health care managers who will be able to design, implement and monitor health interventions in the context of PEPFAR and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB & Malaria. Prior to this position, for seven years, Philemon was the Executive Director of SADC AIDS Network of Nurses and Midwives (SANNAM). SANNAM is a regional federation of National Nurses Associations of the 15 Southern African countries. He attended the GNLI in 2012. Philemon is also a graduate and trainer of the ICN LFC Programme in the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) and an ICN LFC Regional Trainer in the African Region. He recently completed ICN LFC training and the ICN LFC TOT Programme in Eritrea, Mauritius and Iran. Philemon’s passion is leadership, policy development, advocacy and regulation. He is currently working to establish nursing councils in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mozambique."

lfc™ graduate spotlight
"Mrs. Nguyen Bich Luu has been the National Coordinator of the ICN Leadership for Change™ (LFC) Programme and ICN LFC™ Trainer in Vietnam from 2006 to now. In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Western Pacific Region, Ministry of Health of Vietnam and Vietnam Nurses Association, she has successfully implemented the ICN LFC™ Programme in different Medical and Nursing schools in Vietnam. Mrs. Luu also participated in the 2011 ICN-Burdett Global Nursing Leadership Institute and she contributed to train 302 LFC graduated participants, then 28 nurses among them to be trained as trainers. She was invited to be a volunteer abstract reviewer for ICN conference in 2013 and 2015. Mrs Luu is a former Chief Nurse of Vietnam, the Vice President of the Vietnam Nurses Association (VNA), the President of Vietnam Nursing Teacher Branch of VNA, the head of the Nursing Department of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and the National Hospital Quality Management Consultant for a project of 13 provinces of Vietnam. With the contributions for health care system in Vietnam, Mrs. Nguyen Bich Luu was recognized by her colleagues and got Award "Excellent Physician" in 2011 from National President of Vietnam."
